Loan Signing Specialist is trained to know “more than
just a Notary” and has experience in identifying specific documents
which are part of a typical loan transaction. This insures that necessary
signatures are placed in their proper places on documents AND that
all necessary notarizations [and oaths] are performed. It is the responsibility of the MLSS to ensure that the loan is signed in a timely, professional and accurate manner. The lender is counting on these specialized notaries to not only secure the signatures, but also to make sure that the documents are signed in a manner that will allow the loan to be sold in the secondary market. Therefore, their responsibility goes much farther than “just a Notary”. By learning and utilizing information, such as dates on documents, rescission periods, how and when to make corrections, proper signatures and witness requirements, the Certified Signing Agent is recognized as a competent entity in the signing industry.
